Sometimes having no instruction is the most fun! With this activity I cut out various shapes in different colors of contruction paper. I then mixed all the shapes up and put them on a paper plate for easy grabbing. 

I cut a rectangular frame out of cardstock paper and placed it on a piece of contact paper (sticky side up!) I then told my Little she was going to make a garden, and it could look however she wanted it to. I made a flower in the middle to show her how/what I meant since this was a new idea for her.

She had SO much fun doing this, and it was fun to see what she came up with!

For this counting activity I used popsicle sticks (glued to construction paper) and labeling stickers. I showed my Little how to do the first one (she is very much a visual learner!) I then asked her to finish the rest of the flowers. 

•{cupcake.flowers}•

This was a simple activity we did using cupcake liners, construction paper, and a glue stick. I cut out the shapes for the stems, leaves, and inner flower. I also pushed the cupcake liners in so they were inside out (that way we could see the fun design!) I then let my Little put them together, starting with the stems and leaves first. She loved these!

Being someone who doesn't currently have a computer, sometimes you just have to make the most of what you have! I traced circles onto each color of construction paper in the shape of a flower. Then I took pictures from a preschool "letter sounds" workbook I found at Dollar Tree and traced circles around those as well, and then cut them out. I had my Little review each picture and what it was, and then I had her color each one. After she finished coloring we found which letter each picture started with by asking "what does ssss ssss ssssink start with?" Once she figured out each letter, we glued them onto the corresponding flower. It was lots of fun once she got through all the coloring!

We kicked off Gardening week by planting some flowers! My Little was VERY excited about this activity! I decided to use platic cups as planters since we already had them on hand. I used a scissors to cut 5-6 slits in the bottom edges of the cups to allow for drainage of water. I then filled cups about 2/3 to 3/4 full with potting soil and followed the package directions. Then we were ready for seeds!

We picked two random seed packets of mixed flowers whose germination period is 5-10 days in hopes we will see something possibly by the end of this week already! 

I split the two packets up into six different cups (three cups for each packet) to allow more room for the plants to grow. We also labeled the cups with #1 and #2 so we know which seed packet's flowers are coming up!

Lastly, we placed the cups in a pan for easy transfer in and out of the house since it still gets a little too chilly at night outside.

This was the first science experiment I have done with my Little, and she LOVED it. I filled a tall container with water, and then squirted a layer of shaving cream on top. (The thinner the layer, the faster and easier this will be.) Then I put a few drops of blue food coloring on top. You have to be a little patient, but the rain drops will start to fall. So fun!

For this activity I used a roller from our collection of Playdoh toys and a stick from our Cake Pop sticks. I dropped the paint on the paper in rainbow order, and then we stuck the stick inside the roller as a way to keep it under control (and not get our hands all messy!) [side note: I taped our paper to the table when rolling the paint to keep it from moving across the table with us.]

Since we are focusing on Spring this week, I decided to throw in a few carrots for that special Bunny friend coming this weekend. I painted my Little's knuckles and pressed them onto the paper. I used a green marker for the leaves to finish them off.
